Shocking Indonesian News Today
I am so sad to see this video, Ardi Rizal, a 2 year old boy in South Sumatera Indonesia smokes like a pro. Very saddening. How can his parents let him smoking?
I can’t believe it. Childrens are parents’s responsibility and as a mother of two i can’t imagine if my boy smokes, especially at this young age! Crazy!
I am an Indonesian and i can imagine how it is. My neighbour married when she was 12 years old, and get pregnant a year later. This is so terrible myth, if one girl above 20 and not yet married, neighbourhood will claim her to be a “unlucky” girl.
I was married above 20, and i was so happy that i wasn’t married earlier. So this example, if this girl has a kid, of course she is not mature enough to grow up a kid.
Low education, lack of informations, will drive some sad facts like this.
I have read in Indonesian newspaper online that this kid has started smoking since when he was 18 months old!
His father said, that he is not worried because his son looks healthy. And if he doesn’t give him ciggies, he will cry and so mad because he is addicted. I translate what he said to this Indonesian newspaper.

“Ardi juga diperkenalkan rokok oleh orangtuanya sejak ia berusia 18 bulan. “Saya tidak khawatir pada kesehatannya, selama ini Ardi terlihat sehat saja. Bila ia tidak diberi rokok, ia akan menangis dan mengamuk karena ia sudah kecanduan,” kata Mohammad Rizal, ayah Ardi.”
Well i did breastfeeding until my boy was 2 years old! so he was addicted too, but i had to stop it. It was pain in the a$$ to hear him crying for a few nights, but it has to be stopped. After a few terrible nights, he was then used to it.
This saddening addiction can be stopped earlier. This kid can’t do anything if the parents didn’t give him ciggies.
This sad news has to be stopped!
