My husband had a working permit in Indonesia for about 6 years. Sometimes when that working permit is over, he has to apply Social Visa so that he can stay with us, his family in Indonesia.
For some of you who want to apply social visa so that you can travel in Indonesia, you will need following:
1. Obvious, your ticket and travel budgets.
2. A sponsor letter, to state that someone is reponsible for you while you are staying in Indonesia.
3. Of course, if you have a wife or a husband who works there, then you need the working permit.
4. Your passport has to be at least 6 months valid from the date you travel, but it is strongly recommended that it is a year valid.

After you got those stuff done, when you are in Jakarta Airport or any internation airports in Indonesia, you can get a Visa on arrival, you will have to pay 25 USD and you need to show the passport of yours. You will have then, one month Visa as a tourist.
If you don’t want to stay long, you can get a week visa for 10 USD.
