Bavaria is different and bavaria is not a city in Germany.
Since almost 6 years i have been living in Germany with my family, i at least should know that Bavaria is not a city here.
Many people who have mostly never been to Germany, think that Bavaria is a city. It is well-known, that Bavaria is different in Germany. They do have “difference” authorities and cultures.
When i live here in the first months, i went to a school for foreigners where they learn German’s grammar.
And in this school, i have learnt a little bit of German’s history and politic stuff. Not my thing, but well, at least i know the answers if my kids ask me something about this stuff.
Germany has many counties, like, Baden Wuerttemberg, Bavaria (Bayern, they call it), Nordrhein Westfallen,..etc.
Each county has different capital cities. Baden Wuerttermberg has Stuttgart as the capital city, and Munich (Muenchen) is the capital city of Bavaria.
Bavaria is different, about the culture, landscape, foods, etc.
Bavaria is different than other counties in Germany, but in the other part, it is a part of Germany..
The difference that i clearly feel is the Oktoberfest that is very famous all over the world, young and old people will gather together, drink beers and white sausage, oh..not to forget the dirndls (Bavarian women’s traditional clothing) and lederhosens (leather hose).
Something like this, we don’t have here, where i live, interesting!
Bavarian dialect , one of a factor why Bavaria is different than other places.
When i first visit Bavaria for the first time, i did not understand the dialect at all. Same like in Indonesia, Germany has their own dialects in every counties.
In Bavaria, they do speak really bavarian dialect in some places. Because big cities in Bavaria is an international city, means they have lots of students, or community which are not originally from Germany.
But when you come to small towns, people speak Bavarian that is interesting but hard to understand.
Trailer Rosenheim Cops Staffel 5
Then i happened to watch Rosenheim cops with my mother in law alot (when we were still staying with her) and started to understand Bavarian language and heard a lots of stories why Bavaria is different than the rest of the country, Germany.

Nice to meet a Bavarian
My son is a fan of Bayern Muenchen, while husband is a fan of Vfb Stuttgart, so you can imagine how my house is if those team play against each other lol..
Thanks for leaving a comment
It must have been very difficult to adjust to the different culture, language, new friends etc. Hope you’re enjoying life in Germany now!
Hi Karyn!
Yes, i am getting better to adapt, the first year was very hard, but since i had a second child, it is much better now.
Thank you for visiting!
It will take some time to get familiar to new culture. I lived in Berlin for 7 years, but I was 12 when I went there and visited for vacation before. It was fairly easy for me as I had family there and was so young. But I must tell you it was harder for me when I moved to USA than Deutschland.
Alles Gute
